Sheenaz is one of our DBA students that started in 2026. She shares her experience of EIM´s studies in an honest way to help future students and aspirants to understand how our study program works.
When I first started thinking about doing a DBA, it wasn’t about stepping away from industry, it was actually the opposite.
In my day-to-day work, I’m involved in complex situations with long cycles, multiple stakeholders, and a lot of moving parts. The challenge isn’t necessarily speed , it’s that there isn’t always the space to step back and really structure the problem. Decisions often need to be made, priorities shift, and you move forward ,but without always fully understanding the underlying dynamics. That’s what made me realise that experience alone isn’t always enough. I was looking for a way to approach these challenges more systematically, to connect practical experience with a more structured, academic way of thinking.
What I value about the DBA is exactly that: it creates the space to reflect, to question assumptions, and to analyse real-world problems more deeply. For me, it’s not about finding immediate answers, it’s about developing a better way of thinking through complexity.
This is why I was interested in joining EIM. The Institute offers small groups with in person digital lecturing and support around on topics as you develop your paper. The flexibility of the course is ideal for working individuals that are keen to keep while progressing toward goals of adding value through academic work.
Thanks for your Input, Sheenaz.

For those drawn — as Sheenaz eventually was — toward becoming a producer of knowledge rather than only a consumer of it, EIM offers the DBA. The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is a professional doctorate that applies advanced research directly to live business challenges in strategy, leadership, and innovation. Accredited at EQF Level 8 and structured across twelve modules over a 36-month full-time horizon, it is delivered entirely online so working professionals can earn the qualification without interrupting their careers. The result is a doctorate that turns a candidate's own organisational reality into a source of rigorous, applicable knowledge.
