FAQ – Master of Business Administration (MBA)

To enrol in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at EIM, applicants must hold a relevant EQF/MQF Level 6 degree (Bachelor's). Alternatively, applicants with an EQF Level 5 qualification may be admitted if they can demonstrate at least five years of professional experience at executive or professional level and submit a portfolio evidencing appropriate writing and analytical skills. Professional English proficiency at CEFR Level B2 is required, as are basic digital skills for working with EIM's online learning platform.

Applicants who do not meet the standard requirements are encouraged to apply via the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL/APEL) pathway, through which professional experience, corporate training, or credits earned at other institutions may be formally recognised. For a personal assessment, contact admission@eim.education.

The MBA can be completed in 18 months full-time or in up to 36 months part-time. The programme comprises 90 ECTS credits distributed across three structured phases: Launching (core management foundations), Deepening (advanced topics including AI for Business and Entrepreneurship), and Specialising (industry specialisation module plus the Final Master Project, 20 ECTS).

The full programme structure is detailed on the MBA programme page.

  5. Logistics & Mobility Management
  6. Agribusiness Management

Yes. The EIM MBA is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) at MQF/EQF Level 7 — the highest Master's level within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). For full accreditation details, see the Accreditation page.

The EIM MBA is delivered entirely online — 100% — through a combination of synchronous Oxbridge-style tutorials in small groups and asynchronous self-study via the Google Education Suite. Tutorials are interactive, discussion-based sessions with direct access to experienced faculty; they are not recorded lectures or anonymous mass learning. Both full-time and part-time tracks are available.

Absolutely. The EIM MBA is specifically designed for working professionals. The part-time track allows completion over up to 36 months, with one module studied approximately every two months. The online format eliminates geographic restrictions and residency requirements. The majority of EIM MBA students are employed professionals who continue their careers without interruption.

The curriculum covers 14 modules across three phases.

Phase 1 – Launching (30 ECTS): Digital and Sustainable Business Strategies; Leadership for a Sustainable World; Applied Research Methods and Data Science; Digital Marketing; Finance for Decision Makers; Organisational Psychology and Human Resources Management.

Phase 2 – Deepening (30 ECTS): Entrepreneurship and Disruptive Innovation; Operations and Business Intelligence; Global Network Strategies and Ecosystems; Leadership in a Networked World; Business Informatics for the Digital Economy; Artificial Intelligence for Business.

Phase 3 – Specialising (30 ECTS): one industry specialisation module (10 ECTS) and the Final Master Project (20 ECTS).

The full Intended Learning Outcomes for each module are available via EIM.

The Final Master Project is a 20-ECTS applied research project completed in the final phase of the programme. Students identify a real-world business challenge relevant to their professional context or chosen specialisation, apply the research methods and strategic frameworks developed throughout the programme, and produce a substantive analytical project.

The assessment includes an oral presentation component, ensuring the originality of the work. The project is supervised and assessed by qualified faculty and corroborated by a second examiner.

Assessment is continuous and multi-modal. For each module, the grade combines feedforward assessments on partial works developed across tutorial sessions and a final examination. All assessments are corroborated by a second qualified lecturer or coach. Final assessments include an oral presentation element.

The grading scale is: Distinction (80–100%), Merit (65–79%), Pass (50–64%), Fail (0–49%). 90% of students complete the programme within the standard study period.

The EIM MBA has two intake dates per year: April and October. Applications are submitted online via the application form. For applicants who wish to experience the programme before committing to the full 90-ECTS course, it is also possible to enrol in a single module as an entry point.

Prospective students are encouraged to request a personal consultation, which offers tailored guidance on programme fit, specialisation selection, and RPL eligibility.

MBA programme fees are calculated at EUR 200 per ECTS credit. For the full 90-ECTS programme, the credit-based fee totals EUR 18,000, plus a one-time admission fee of EUR 3,000, bringing the total programme cost to EUR 21,000. Fees may be paid in full at the start of the first term or in instalments at the beginning of each term.

EIM offers scholarship support and access to various funding options. For more information, see Scholarships or contact admission@eim.education.

The EIM MBA prepares graduates for management, consulting, entrepreneurship, and leadership roles across a wide range of industries. Core career paths include Business Analyst, Manager, Consultant, and Entrepreneur in General Management, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, Business Informatics, and Digital Transformation. The chosen industry specialisation further sharpens the graduate's profile.

EIM also offers individual career coaching. More information is available on the Career Opportunities page. The programme does not lead to a warranted profession or regulated occupation.

The Oxbridge-style tutorial model replaces large-format lectures with small-group sessions led by an experienced tutor. Participants engage directly with course material, debate ideas, present partial work, and receive detailed individual feedback in each session.

At EIM, tutorials are conducted online with international cohort groups, preserving the personal and rigorous character of the model while maintaining full flexibility for professionals. Faculty bring both academic credentials and real-world management experience. To learn more, visit the Learning Approach page.

Yes. EIM operates an MBA Completion Pathway (MCP) — a top-up programme specifically designed for professionals who have completed one or more MBA modules at another institution but never received their degree. The MCP recognises previously earned ECTS credits through its Recognition of Prior Learning and RAPL/RAPEL mechanisms.

Separately, candidates who are all but dissertation in a doctoral programme may be interested in EIM's Dissertation Completion Pathway (DCP). Contact admission@eim.education to discuss eligibility and credit transfer options.
